Auction result well in line with expectations
The work L'homme Mangbetu by Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2021. It changed hands for a price of GBP 32,760.00 (€ 38,811.75) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 24,000.00 – 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Fragile, which sold at auction in April 2021 for GBP 119,700.00 (€ 137,689.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit L'homme Mangbetu von Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 32.760,00 (€ 38.811,75) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 24.000,00 – 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Fragile beobachtet, die im April 2021 für GBP 119.700,00 (€ 137.689,83) versteigert wurde.
