The work Elongated Head by Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga was sold in the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction at Sothebys in London in May 2017. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,921.08), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fragile in April 2021 with an auction result of GBP 119,700.00 (€ 137,689.83).

Die Arbeit Elongated Head von Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga wurde im Mai 2017 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.921,08) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eddy Kamuanga Ilunga erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fragile im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 119.700,00 (€ 137.689,83).
