Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Karma I(Painted In 2010) by Eddie Kang was sold in the Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art auction at China Guardian in October this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 60,000.00 (€ 7,255.87) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eddie Kang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work In the Woods, which sold at auction in June 2021 for HKD 189,000.00 (€ 20,530.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Karma I(Painted In 2010) von Eddie Kang wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art bei China Guardian versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 100.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 60.000,00 (€ 7.255,87) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Eddie Kang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit In the Woods beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für HKD 189.000,00 (€ 20.530,30) versteigert wurde.
