Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2003 Christies in London held the auction At Home - British and Continental Pictures & Works on Paper, which included the work Fishing vessels moored in a Cornish harbour by Edith Mary Garner. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 535.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Edith Mary Garner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Passing Show, St. Martin in the Fields; Victoria Coach Station; Shell Mex House; Dorchester Hotel in September 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,352.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion At Home - British and Continental Pictures & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Fishing vessels moored in a Cornish harbour von Edith Mary Garner zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 535,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Edith Mary Garner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Passing Show, St. Martin in the Fields; Victoria Coach Station; Shell Mex House; Dorchester Hotel im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.352,79).
