This artwork by Edith Mary Garner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in August 2003. In the British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper auction, the work A crescent bathed in morning sunlight sold for GBP 1,410.00 (€ 2,024.39) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 600.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Edith Mary Garner; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Passing Show, St. Martin in the Fields; Victoria Coach Station; Shell Mex House; Dorchester Hotel sold at auction in September 2012 with the realized price of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,352.79).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Edith Mary Garner erzielte im August 2003 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Pictures and Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit A crescent bathed in morning sunlight für GBP 1.410,00 (€ 2.024,39) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 600,00.
