A top price for E. Brown - as previously expected
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction SPORTING ART AND DOGS, which included the work Forrester, a hound in a landscape with a hunt beyond; and Rutland, a hound in a landscape with a hunt beyond by E. Brown. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,575.00 (€ 17,284.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Forrester, a hound in a landscape with a hunt beyond; and Rutland, a hound in a landscape with a hunt beyond is the most expensive artwork by E. Brown that we have observed at auctions so far.
