Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Leopard Sleeping In Tree, Life-Size by Dylan Lewis was auctioned at Christies in London in June 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 63,650.00 (€ 70,416.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dylan Lewis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Walking Cheetahs, which sold at auction in November 2007 for USD 301,000.00 (€ 204,929.19).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit Leopard Sleeping In Tree, Life-Size von Dylan Lewis kam im Juni 2011 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 63.650,00 (€ 70.416,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Dylan Lewis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Walking Cheetahs beobachtet, die im November 2007 für USD 301.000,00 (€ 204.929,19) versteigert wurde.
