Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Old Man by Dullah. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 32,500.00 (€ 3,659.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dullah achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Barong Dance in Bali in November this year with an auction result of HKD 2,772,000.00 (€ 325,280.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Old Man von Dullah zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 32.500,00 (€ 3.659,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dullah erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Barong Dance in Bali im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.772.000,00 (€ 325.280,53).
