Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2000 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Still Life with mixed Roses in a Vase by Douglas Stannus Gray. The price achieved of GBP 1,150.00 (€ 1,912.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Douglas Stannus Gray - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The artist's drawing room, King's Avenue, which sold at auction in July 2017 for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 6,276.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life with mixed Roses in a Vase von Douglas Stannus Gray zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.150,00 (€ 1.912,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Douglas Stannus Gray mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The artist's drawing room, King's Avenue beobachtet, die im Juli 2017 für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 6.276,64) versteigert wurde.
