Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Coco Chanel, Paris by Douglas Kirkland was sold in the Classic & Contemporary Photographs auction at Bonhams in April this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,355.00 (€ 4,850.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Douglas Kirkland - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "Marylin Monroe 1961". Original-Photographie., which sold at auction in December 2016 for CHF 14,300.00 (€ 13,337.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Coco Chanel, Paris von Douglas Kirkland wurde im April diesen Jahres in der Auktion Classic & Contemporary Photographs bei Bonhams versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.355,00 (€ 4.850,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Douglas Kirkland mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "Marylin Monroe 1961". Original-Photographie. beobachtet, die im Dezember 2016 für CHF 14.300,00 (€ 13.337,81) versteigert wurde.
