Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Vincere Archive, Naples No.1, 1997 by Doug Hall was auctioned at Christies in New York in August 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,330.80). Admittedly, works by Doug Hall have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Highway 50, Nevada #1 in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,543.33).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Vincere Archive, Naples No.1, 1997 von Doug Hall im August 2014 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.330,80) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Doug Hall auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Highway 50, Nevada #1 im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.543,33).
