Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In March last year Sothebys in London held the auction (Women) Artists, which included the work Untitled (No. 20) by Dorothea Tanning. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,024.00 (€ 3,585.29). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dorothea Tanning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le mal oublié in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,440,000.00 (€ 1,341,906.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in London die Auktion (Women) Artists durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (No. 20) von Dorothea Tanning zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.024,00 (€ 3.585,29) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dorothea Tanning erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Le mal oublié im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.440.000,00 (€ 1.341.906,63).
