Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2011 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Iceberg (Sketch) by Doris McCarthy. Here, the upper estimate of CAD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for CAD 8,400.00 (€ 6,031.22). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Doris McCarthy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Iceberg Fantasy #28, which sold at auction in May 2011 for CAD 30,000.00 (€ 21,540.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Iceberg (Sketch) von Doris McCarthy zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von CAD 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für CAD 8.400,00 (€ 6.031,22) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Doris McCarthy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Iceberg Fantasy #28 beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für CAD 30.000,00 (€ 21.540,07) versteigert wurde.
