Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in Sydney held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work The Rialto Bridge, Venice, c.1928 by Dora Wilson. The price achieved of AUD 18,450.00 (€ 11,187.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dora Wilson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Archibald Fountain, Sydney, c.1932, which sold at auction in November last year for AUD 34,440.00 (€ 22,409.52).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Sydney die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Rialto Bridge, Venice, c.1928 von Dora Wilson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 18.450,00 (€ 11.187,05) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Dora Wilson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Archibald Fountain, Sydney, c.1932 beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für AUD 34.440,00 (€ 22.409,52) versteigert wurde.
