Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in New York held the auction The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye, which included the work Portrait in Yellow by Dora Wilson. The price achieved of AUD 1,722.00 (€ 1,027.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dora Wilson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Archibald Fountain, Sydney, c.1932 in November last year with an auction result of AUD 34,440.00 (€ 22,409.52).

Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion The Fred and Elinor Wrobel CollectionThe Artist's Eye durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait in Yellow von Dora Wilson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 1.722,00 (€ 1.027,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dora Wilson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Archibald Fountain, Sydney, c.1932 im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 34.440,00 (€ 22.409,52).
