The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,643.12), 53% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Dora M. Batty; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot R.A.F Display sold at auction in October 2012 with the realized price of GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,020.40).
