The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,336.17), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dora Holzhandler - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Young lovers, which sold at auction in August 2007 for GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,966.97).

Die Arbeit Piper; and Figures in a park von Dora Holzhandler wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.336,17) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Dora Holzhandler mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Young lovers beobachtet, die im August 2007 für GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.966,97) versteigert wurde.
