Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Dora Gordine could be acquired at Sothebys in Olympia in November 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British and Irish Art auction, the work L'Après-Midi D'Un Faune changed hands for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,673.06) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dora Gordine - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Crowning Glory, which sold at auction in December 2007 for GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,152.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dora Gordine konnte im November 2006 bei Sothebys in Olympia für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British and Irish Art wechselte die Arbeit L'Après-Midi D'Un Faune für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.673,06) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Dora Gordine mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Crowning Glory beobachtet, die im Dezember 2007 für GBP 6.000,00 (€ 8.152,98) versteigert wurde.
