Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Album Of Landscapes by Dong Qichang was auctioned at POLY in Hong Kong in July last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 36,000.00 (€ 4,492.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dong Qichang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Regular And Running Script After The Old Masters in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 57,750,000.00 (€ 6,423,887.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Album Of Landscapes von Dong Qichang kam im Juli letzten Jahres bei POLY in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 36.000,00 (€ 4.492,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dong Qichang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular And Running Script After The Old Masters im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.750.000,00 (€ 6.423.887,64).
