Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Poems in Running-Cursive Script by Dong Qichang was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. It achieved a price of HKD 693,000.00 (€ 80,188.03), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 16%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dong Qichang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Regular And Running Script After The Old Masters in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 57,750,000.00 (€ 6,423,887.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Poems in Running-Cursive Script von Dong Qichang wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 693.000,00 (€ 80.188,03) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 16%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dong Qichang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular And Running Script After The Old Masters im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.750.000,00 (€ 6.423.887,64).
