Signed, with two seals of the artist
Five collector’s seals, including three of Wang Shimin (1592-1680)
Colophons and titleslip by Gong Xinzhao (1870-1949), dated jiaxu (1934), bingzi (1936), wuyin (1938) xinsi (1941) and yiyou year (1945), signed with a total of eight seals

This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 1,200,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dong Qichang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Regular And Running Script After The Old Masters in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 57,750,000.00 (€ 6,423,887.64).

Die Arbeit Poems in Running Script von Dong Qichang war einem Käufer im Dezember diesen Jahres HKD 4.410.000,00 (€ 510.287,47) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.200.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dong Qichang erzielen.
