This artwork by Dong Qichang achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2012. In the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas auction, the work Landscapes sold for HKD 667,000.00 (€ 66,401.45) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 350,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dong Qichang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Regular And Running Script After The Old Masters in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 57,750,000.00 (€ 6,423,887.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 91 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Dong Qichang erzielte im Oktober 2012 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Four Seas wurde die Arbeit Landscapes für HKD 667.000,00 (€ 66.401,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 350.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dong Qichang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular And Running Script After The Old Masters im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.750.000,00 (€ 6.423.887,64).
