Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy in Cursive Script by Dong Qichang was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in August last year. The price achieved of HKD 38,250.00 (€ 4,841.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dong Qichang achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calligraphy In Regular And Running Script After The Old Masters in October 2021 with an auction result of HKD 57,750,000.00 (€ 6,423,887.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Calligraphy in Cursive Script von Dong Qichang kam im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 38.250,00 (€ 4.841,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Dong Qichang erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular And Running Script After The Old Masters im Oktober 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 57.750.000,00 (€ 6.423.887,64).
