The work Spring in Peach Blossom Land by Dong Bangda was worth HKD 38,620,000.00 (€ 4,706,105.12) to a buyer in November 2016. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 9,000,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Spring in Peach Blossom Land the most expensive artwork by Dong Bangda that we have observed at auctions so far.
