each drawing laid down on an album page and each framed within a drawn decorative mount, the sheet of five bears a pen and brown ink attribution at the lower section of mount in the centre: Donato Creti. and bears inscription in pen and brown ink on the back of the sheet: Tutti di Donato Creti di Bologna; the sheet of six bears pen and brown ink attributions below each individual drawing: Donato Creti.

This artwork by Donato Creti achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2017. In the Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian auction, the work Eleven Studies Mounted Over Two Large Album Pages: Including Various Head Studies, Winged Putti, A Mother And Child Grouping And Gargoyles sold for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,808.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Donato Creti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Sibyl in February 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,095,000.00 (€ 896,732.45).

In der Auktion Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian wurde die Arbeit Eleven Studies Mounted Over Two Large Album Pages: Including Various Head Studies, Winged Putti, A Mother And Child Grouping And Gargoyles für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.808,68) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Donato Creti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Sibyl im Februar 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.095.000,00 (€ 896.732,45).
