Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sun God (Helios) by Donald De Lue was sold in the American Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 10,281.56) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Donald De Lue have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cosmic Head in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 62,335.66).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sun God (Helios) von Donald De Lue wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion American Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 10.281,56) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Donald De Lue auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Cosmic Head im März 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 62.335,66).
