Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Rocket Thrower by Donald De Lue was sold in the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,640.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Donald De Lue have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Cosmic Head in March 2020 with an auction result of USD 68,750.00 (€ 62,335.66).

Die Arbeit The Rocket Thrower von Donald De Lue wurde im September 2012 in der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 12.640,01) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
