Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait of a girl; and 2 other portraits by the same hand by Donald Bain was sold in the British, Continental & Russian Pictures auction at Christies in London in August 2007. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 504.00 (€ 745.05). Admittedly, works by Donald Bain have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reflections High Tide in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,917.43).

Die Arbeit Portrait of a girl; and 2 other portraits by the same hand von Donald Bain wurde im August 2007 in der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 504,00 (€ 745,05) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Donald Bain auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reflections High Tide im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.917,43).
