Auction result well in line with expectations
The work On the beach by Donald Bain was sold in the British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints auction at Christies in London in May 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 618.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Donald Bain have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Reflections High Tide in November 2021 with an auction result of GBP 5,040.00 (€ 5,917.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit On the beach von Donald Bain wurde im Mai 2007 in der Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 618,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Donald Bain auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Reflections High Tide im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.040,00 (€ 5.917,43).
