Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pops by Don Nice was sold in the A Life of Discovery: Works from The Allan Stone Collection | Contemporary Art Online auction at Sothebys in New York in December 2018. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,875.00 (€ 1,636.70) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Don Nice - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Camels, which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 5,250.00 (€ 3,827.93).

Die Arbeit Pops von Don Nice wurde im Dezember 2018 in der Auktion A Life of Discovery: Works from The Allan Stone Collection | Contemporary Art Online bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.875,00 (€ 1.636,70) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Don Nice mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Camels beobachtet, die im Januar 2011 für USD 5.250,00 (€ 3.827,93) versteigert wurde.
