Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Thames View With Coal Ladder by Don Perceval was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in June 2010, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,559.52). Other works by Don Perceval have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in April this year by the work Pony Express Rider at USD 7,650.00 (€ 6,929.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Thames View With Coal Ladder von Don Perceval im Juni 2010 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.559,52) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Don Perceval wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im April diesen Jahres die Arbeit Pony Express Rider mit USD 7.650,00 (€ 6.929,35).
