Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study For Spiral Crown, 1978 by Don Gummer was auctioned at Sothebys in Online in March 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,700.00 (€ 1,379.87). Other works by Don Gummer have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2018 by the work Darwin's Map #2; Untitled at USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,985.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Study For Spiral Crown, 1978 von Don Gummer im März 2018 bei Sothebys in Online versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.700,00 (€ 1.379,87) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Don Gummer wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2018 die Arbeit Darwin's Map #2; Untitled mit USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.985,53).
