A top price for Domenico di Zanobi - as previously expected
In April 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings Including Property From the Collection of Jacques Goudstikker, which included the work The Madonna adoring the Christ Child with the infant Saint John the Baptist, Joseph and the Annunciation to the Shepherds by Domenico di Zanobi. The price achieved of USD 288,000.00 (€ 210,834.55) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Madonna adoring the Christ Child with the infant Saint John the Baptist, Joseph and the Annunciation to the Shepherds is the most expensive artwork by Domenico di Zanobi that we have observed at auctions so far.
