Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Study Of A Man In Motion, His Arms Outstretched by Domenico Zampieri was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,238.14). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Domenico Zampieri achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Saint John the Evangelist in December 2009 with an auction result of GBP 9,225,250.00 (€ 10,406,406.42).
