Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Joannes Gritti by Domenico Robusti was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art Including Select Works From the Salander-O'Reilly Galleries auction at Christies in New York in June 2010. The price achieved of USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,204.05) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Domenico Robusti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A group portrait of four Venetian senators, bust-length in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 341,000.00 (€ 398,684.33).
