In May last year Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work The Vision of Saint Bridget by Domenico Robusti. The »bidding war« ended at USD 94,500.00 (€ 88,062.62), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Domenico Robusti have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A group portrait of four Venetian senators, bust-length in December 2016 with an auction result of GBP 341,000.00 (€ 398,684.33).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Vision of Saint Bridget von Domenico Robusti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 94.500,00 (€ 88.062,62) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Domenico Robusti auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A group portrait of four Venetian senators, bust-length im Dezember 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 341.000,00 (€ 398.684,33).
