Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Domenico Maggiotto could be acquired at Christies in London in November 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Pictures auction, the work Joseph interpreting the dreams of Pharaoh's Butler and Baker changed hands for GBP 9,400.00 (€ 15,363.93) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Domenico Maggiotto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Avarice; and The pleasure of smoke and drink, which sold at auction in December 2008 for GBP 31,250.00 (€ 32,821.59).
