Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A bearded man holding an apple by Domenico Maggiotto was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,246.34) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Domenico Maggiotto achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Avarice; and The pleasure of smoke and drink in December 2008 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 32,821.59).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.246,34) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
