A top price for Domenico Cresti - as previously expected
The work Bathers At San Niccolo by Domenico Cresti was sold in the Master Paintings & Sculpture Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 700,000.00 – 900,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 732,500.00 (€ 678,617.75) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Bathers At San Niccolo is the most expensive artwork by Domenico Cresti that we have observed at auctions so far.
