Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Domenico Campagnola could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in January 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of A. Alfred Taubman: Old Masters auction, the work Landscape With Figures And Animals changed hands for USD 16,250.00 (€ 15,001.85) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Admittedly, works by Domenico Campagnola have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Christ in the house of Simon the Pharisee in January 2005 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 110,353.28).
