Despite a disappointment, a good price for DJ Simpson
In October 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Year 1 by DJ Simpson for GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,561.12). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Year 1 is the most expensive artwork by DJ Simpson that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für DJ Simpson
Im Oktober 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Year 1 von DJ Simpson für GBP 4.780,00 (€ 7.561,12) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist Year 1 das teuerste Kunstwerk von DJ Simpson, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
