Despite a disappointment, a good price for DJ Simpson
In October 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Year 1 by DJ Simpson for GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,561.12). This price was achieved in the auction Post-War and Contemporary at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Despite this disappointing result, Year 1 is the most expensive artwork by DJ Simpson that we have observed at auction so far.

Im Oktober 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Year 1 von DJ Simpson für GBP 4.780,00 (€ 7.561,12) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00.
