Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Dirk Stoop could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2013 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work A Landscape With Horsemen And Dogs In The Foreground, A Herdsman With Cattle Beneath A Natural Arch Beyond changed hands for USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,764.80) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dirk Stoop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Scontro tra cavalieri turchi e cristiani, e tra cavalieri cristiani e fanterie turche a destra sullo sfondo, which sold at auction in June 2002 for EUR 18,600.00.
