Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work An Extensive River Landscape With A Bridge by Dirck Verhaert was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in February 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,250.00 (€ 2,947.85). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dirck Verhaert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A rocky river landscape with figures among ancient ruins; and A rocky coastal landscape with figures in boats and figures on a track near ancient ruins, which sold at auction in September 2008 for EUR 8,125.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit An Extensive River Landscape With A Bridge von Dirck Verhaert im Februar 2020 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.250,00 (€ 2.947,85) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Dirck Verhaert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A rocky river landscape with figures among ancient ruins; and A rocky coastal landscape with figures in boats and figures on a track near ancient ruins beobachtet, die im September 2008 für EUR 8.125,00 versteigert wurde.
