Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters, 19th Century and Impressionist Art, which included the work An elegant lady in a green dress playing a lute in an interior by Dirck Hals. It changed hands for a price of EUR 7,500.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Dirck Hals achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tric-Trac Players In An Interior in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 602,500.00 (€ 439,300.04).
