Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS, which included the work Three cows resting in a wooded landscape, sailing vessels in the distance; and Three bulls in a stormy landscape, a town in the distance by Dionys van Dongen. The price achieved of EUR 4,800.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Other works by Dionys van Dongen have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2002 the work A Dutch yacht and a rowing boat in choppy waters, other shipping beyond was auctioned for EUR 8,365.00.
