Auction result well in line with expectations

Fine Paintings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2012. The price achieved of EUR 2,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Dionys van Dongen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Dutch yacht and a rowing boat in choppy waters, other shipping beyond, which sold at auction in September 2002 for EUR 8,365.00.
