Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Backyard At Falls Village by Dines Carlsen for USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,101.77). This price was achieved in the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Dines Carlsen have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in June 2001 by the work Mrs. Carlsen In The Lilac Garden at USD 7,050.00 (€ 8,319.57).
