Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Christies in New York held the auction Form and Fantasy, which included the work Le guetteur enfant by Diego Giacometti. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 31,163.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Diego Giacometti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La console 'Hommage à Böcklin' in October this year with an auction result of GBP 5,122,000.00 (€ 5,881,478.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Form and Fantasy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Le guetteur enfant von Diego Giacometti zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 31.163,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Diego Giacometti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La console 'Hommage à Böcklin' im Oktober diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.122.000,00 (€ 5.881.478,99).
