Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The cake stand, Browns by Diana Armfield was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 500.00 (€ 635.26). Admittedly, works by Diana Armfield have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roses From the Front Wall, Llwynhir in July 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,562.00 (€ 3,910.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The cake stand, Browns von Diana Armfield im Juli 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600,00 – 800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 500,00 (€ 635,26) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Diana Armfield auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Roses From the Front Wall, Llwynhir im Juli 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.562,00 (€ 3.910,84).
