Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Monte Ravinet by Denise Green was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in April 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of AUD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for AUD 956.00 (€ 575.01). Admittedly, works by Denise Green have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work American Rhapsody in August 2002 with an auction result of AUD 9,400.00 (€ 5,267.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Monte Ravinet von Denise Green im April 2006 bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für AUD 956,00 (€ 575,01) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Denise Green auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit American Rhapsody im August 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 9.400,00 (€ 5.267,49).
